Ingres II System Administration Course Outline

Overview

This course is aimed at students who will be responsible for managing an Ingres installation under UNIX, VMS or NT. It covers all aspects of planning, installation, configuration and day-to-day running of the Ingres installation.

Upon completion of this course students will,

  • be able to build, re-configure and monitor an Ingres installation
  • possess an awareness of the vital tasks required to ensure the efficient running of the installation

 
Audience

System administrators responsible for managing an Ingres installation under UNIX, VMS or NT.

 
Prerequisites

Completion of the Ingres II Database Administration (OI230) course and programming experience are the prerequisites for attending this course. A good understanding of UNIX, VMS or NT is essential.

Instructor-led class consisting of lectures, demonstrations and hands-on lab exercises.
